About Me.
Hey there!
I,m Sharon, An Interior Designer, lover of Art, Dance, Design, and beautiful Interiors.
Born and raised in Kent, England.
When all the kids were going to the local youth club I was drawing plans and dreaming of creating beautiful rooms. In my free time, I would dance ballet, tap and modern dance at my local dancing school. It was a lovely way to grow up and soon developed from a hobby to a career.
I was lucky enough to succeed as a Professional dancer and had a crazy 7-year career travelling around the world as part of an entertainment team on cruise ships/ Casinos.
My jumping into the splits days dancing the French Cancan have long gone!!
I had always had an ambition of becoming an Interior designer but Life took me on a different pathway. I got married after meeting an Israeli on one of my
dancing contracts. We raised a family of 3 boys. Partly in Israel until we had the opportunity to relocate and travel around the world as expats for 10 years. It was amazing! I lived in fascinating countries which included Finland, Greece and Mexico to name a few. The vivid colours of Mexican culture stays with me in my designs and I love using a touch of bold colour which was inspired by the colourful boats in Xochimilco.
Not too much & instinctively I know when to pull back.
I love this motto: Colour is the new white.
My designs as an Interior designer are definitely influenced by my time travelling abroad. I take a lot of inspiration from the diversity of colours/cultures and styles I was exposed to while living abroad. I now use these experiences in my design ideas today!
Living in Finland reinforced my drive and passion for loving beautiful minimalistic modern interiors and the elegance it brings to a room. It also strengthened my realisation that it was time to follow my dream of becoming an Interior designer.
After travelling the world both solo as a dancer and with a family I decided it was my time to follow my second passion. I studied hard at the Yael Steinberger School of Design in Israel and learnt new skills such as architectural cad drawings and SketchUp 3D drafting skills.
I take a lot of my inspiration from Finnish designers and love the fabric from Marimekko, and Orla Kiely.
"Less is more" is my mantra.
I have been working in this Design field now for about 4 years and have had the opportunity to work with some great clients from America, England, and Israel. I have created some super spaces which can be seen on this website.
As a good designer, I have learnt it is so important to listen to what the client wants first and then I inject a twist of my creativity to give them a beautiful functional space. I see the whole picture when planning and executing my ideas.
As a person, I love to laugh and have fun. I am pretty sociable. My idea of a good night is hosting a group of friends over for a meal. When I design I envision a modern functional space that tells the story of whom the client is whilst maintaining a warm cosy space. Let's start this journey.......
